"thank-you!" such a simple expression of sincere gratitude. without you, our guests, we have no outta the way. so it's as simple as "thank-you" all for making us what we are in 2007.
for 18 years it's the combination of great staff and great guests that have created the world that the outta the way represents: good fun, good manners, and respect for all of the good things that are american. we rock.
we made this page to accomplish a few things. it's is a chance to help us get better. to make changes, or to collect new recipes. we have a do-list that is always changing. our top three for the summer is that the kitchen gets an overhaul memorial day, the ladies room a makeover later this summer and then hdtv flatscreens for the bar. fred is very psyched.
as part of this page's ability to let you comment back to us, we'd like to know what you think about changes we can consider, particularly from a design (future cafes) point of view. and if anyone has particular expertise in solar, wind, geo-thermal, and other eco-efficiencies that we can add to make the cafe more efficient, we'd really appreciate it. we 've refined our recycling and have been transfat free for 17 years, but we are now looking at any potentially beneficial eco-solution to the many variables involved in the operation of a restaurant.
America's great, isn't it! we get to ask you, our guests, through the net, to make the cafes of the future better. how cool!
now if there's something we screwed up or could have done better, please do not hesitate to let me know asap. really. the one thing you do not lose sight of in this business is your guest's opinions when you screw up. it makes us better.
so good or bad, we're here 18 years, more ready than ever to make the outta the way your idea of a great american restaurant.
in addition to your comments, we've also started an e-mail exdchange that you can sign up for at the cafe or through the site on this page. nothing heavy handed (who doesn't hate spam), but for special events, music updates, steeler game and schedule updates for the 'flex' scheduling, fundraisers for neighborhood charities, the christmas party and the otherstuff that's cool or important enough for you to check out. we do not pass on any names and our list is run by Fishbowl Marketing (don'tcha just love their name). they're at http://www.fishbowl.com/). we liked the way thay approach managing an e-mail list: low key but polished, keeping it interesting, worth opening and not a pain in the butt!!
peace and love chip, fred, brian and all of the outta the way staff
